If you have R2008a or below, then you need to get a 2nd download from the following list. These downloads include ONLY the pre-compiled mex-files and DLLs.
If you have R2008b or higher, then you don't need to be looking at this because R2008b already has its own netcdf package that mexnc will detect and use.
You should unpack this binary zip file of mex-files in the same directory that you unpacked the m-files . This means that the mex-file(s) should go into mexcdf/mexnc/private. The windows netcdf library DLL should unpack into mexcdf/mexnc/win32, but listen up, windows users, you need to make sure you read the README to find out where to actually install it on your system.

Portions of SNCTOOLS definitely will not work on R13 or below, and parts of the mexnc test suite just won't run properly. But... a download for R13 is provided, you can still give it a try if you want, just don't ask me about it...
